The Haunted Legacy of St. Andrew’s Cathedral: The royal spirits remain in Honolulu

It is said that the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, as well as the inner school hall next to her, is chased by the ghost of Queen Emma from Hawaii.

Saint Andrew stands in Honolulu as a memorial for both souls and faith in the Hawaiian past. Next to the church, a hall is located where students are used at the level and are said to be both inhabited.

Priory, to this day, started a girls ’school full of ghost stories. She used to be an internal school and the students lived in what the Queen of Emma Hall, who is now called Kennedy Hall. A cathedral was born from royal dedication

The story of St. Andrew’s Cathedral begins with Kamehameha IV and his Queen’s wife, Queen Emma, both members of the England Church. Their deep friendship with Queen Victoria from England has strengthened their commitment to bringing the Anglican traditions to Hawaii. In 1862, they succeeded in bringing the bishop Thomas Nietzs Cherish to the islands, and laid the foundation of the Anglican Mission in Hawaii.

Inspired by their sincerity, Kamehameha IV cost a large cathedral to be a symbol of faith and unity for its people. Dramatically, the king has never seen his vision to be fulfilled. He died on St. Andrew’s Day in 1863, leaving the project incomplete. His brother, Kamehameha V, a cloak, and in 1867, he laid the cornerstone in honor of his late brother, which constitutes the beginning of the long history of the Cathedral and the floors.

The same thing happened with the school adjacent to St. Andrew Cathedral. She wanted to create a school for girls as they will have the same quality of education as boys.

From England, Queen Emma brought the sisters of the Church of England to Hawaii to operate the school that opened on the day of ascension in 1867. In 1902, the US Episcopal Church seized the school and managed by the American regime’s sisters to overcome until 1969.

The painful presence of Queen Emma

Queen Emma, who shared her husband’s passion for St. Andrew’s Cathedral and her teacher, continued to participate deeply in her development until her death in 1885. It is said that her soul, which is still deeply related to the church that helped her inspire, returns to St. Andrew’s Cathedral, especially during the day of ascending – a big day in believing in transgression. On this day, many have reported a faded and active personality that moves silently across the church, and its presence is felt by those who are particularly proportional to the spiritual.

The student who used to go up in school also claims that he met the queen in the hall, and that she is the ghost behind the screaming of the floors after the lights are extinguished, and the lights are flooded, stopped and closed the doors.

**Queen Emma:** Emma Calnicomacaacaano Calioni Nawia Rock (January 2, 1836 – April 25, 1885) was the Queen of Hawaii, where King Kamihhami’s fourth wife of 1856 was until his death in 1863. She was later as a candidate for the throne but King Kalaka was elected instead.

This is not the only place that Queen Emma is painful. Its ghost is also said to reside in the Nuuanu Valley on Oʻahu at the Queen Emma Summer Palace, also known as Hānakamalama.

Illuminated ghost and strange sounds

But what about St. Andrew’s Cathedral herself? There are also those who reported hearing the soft breeds of piano music from the large piano in the cathedral, where they played tones known to be among the favorites of Queen Emma. The strange part? No one sits on the tool when the music begins. Some say that it seems as if the queen herself is playing behind the grave, and her fingers are dancing through the keys with a final ghost performance.

Saint Andrew Cathedral, with its high ceilings and echo rooms, is a place where sound carries easily – but not all sounds have a logical explanation. On more than one occasion, visitors have been reported to hear non -stereoscopic sounds, smooth whispers that seem to not come from anywhere, as if the walls themselves were speaking. These strange sounds often occur when the cathedral is empty, which gives a strange feeling to its monitoring or follow -up.

Mysterious characters are another common phenomenon. Visitors who remain very late after service or event often describe the feeling of observation by something – or someone – extends in the shade. These numbers were not entirely seen, only from the angle of the eye, they disappear as soon as one turns to confront them.
