This morning I was checking my social media accounts when these tweets appeared from South Lauren on my summary:

I immediately noticed that there seem to be a lot of orange and red points in the UK region from the map and across Europe that I could not put as sites of terrorist accidents, so Twitter requested a source. Someone referred to me to Carto.com Interactive map of global terrorist attacks since 2012. I enlarged the UK and was surprised by a number of attacks listed in Bath, Somerset, about 8 miles from where I live.
What? This was not logical. There was a single conspiracy that our intelligence services were locked up maybe Bath city has shared a while ago, but I do not remember that there was an attack … so what is it given? Well, the map allows you to click on each accident and the first orange point in my local area you read:
05/05/2015: The attackers threw a burning device in the messenger box at Adenvture Cafe in Bath, City, England, UK. Perhaps the attackers were targeting the company of photographed the Prophet Muhammad. There were no losses in the attack. No group demanded the responsibility of the accident.
Note the use of the word “might be”. Therefore, directly from this point is not even a terrorist incident installed. Only by exploring the sources of the two points in my local area, I can see their presentation under the title “Terrorist Accidents since 2012” represents an extension at best and atonement at the worst case.
Therefore, the next time you see this map is used as evidence that migration is the cause of terrorism, it may invite people to conduct a few research in the source of the map first because although terrorism represents a problem that people who use the open borders to help their cause, it is not really like people who use this map they will believe. And if there is anything, the history of Poland certainly shows us that the enemy does not always seem different from us and that stereotypes are also harmful.
